Designing my own t-shirt

I love graphic t-shirts.  What I don’t love is the branding on them.  So I decided to make my own.  I went and got some men’s Hanes t-shirts and some Fabric markers.  I figured I would start with cheaper shirts to see how the process would go and to experiment. If all is well, I would buy better female t-shirts.  Here are the results of my first test:

DIY - 1st Tshirt
DIY - 1st Tshirt
DIY - 1st Tshirt

Lessons learned (so far):

  • The marker likes to catch on the fabric.  Would get fuzzies on the marker.
  • It’s going to be hard to make a crisp straight edge.  Will need to come up with a solution.

Next test: put some words on there.

DIY Flowers!

So after my DIY Headband, DIY Heat Pad (hrm, I shall make a post about this), I am now on DIY Flowers.  Here are some tutorials that I found and what I will be doing in the next few weeks:

Must head out to use craft store next weekend.

Feeling Crafty

I made my first headband this week.

First Headband

Not too shabby.  I figure instead of searching and paying for a headband, why not make it yourself?  On that note, I found a used Singer Sewing Machine (2732) for $85 bucks!  And now to learn how to use it.
