August was a blur

It flew by so quick.  Week 1 was my first attempt at working out but then I had to pause due to my grandmother being in the hospital.  She had subdural hematoma (internal bleeding).  The following week (week 3 – yea I don’t know) and week 4 was my uncle’s wedding.  I was helping him out with stuff.  I swear I did more work at his wedding then mine. ha!  The next thing you know, September is here. I stopped taking my anxiety meds and that has been an interesting ride.  There was a lot of up and downs but it’s starting to slowly plateau.

Vacation planning is happening for 2011 and 2012!  Vietnam is on hold for a few more years but I have hopes to visit within 5 years.

My Uncle’s Wedding – lessons learned

My husband, cousins, and I ended up helping my Uncle with last minute wedding stuff.  That whole week leading up to his wedding was filled with chaos and goofyness.  I was still working full time AND helping out with stuff.  The tasks that were assigned to us were: assembling the favors, cotton candy, bathroom baskets, hotel gift bags, centerpieces and escort cards. The most time intensive parts were the favors and escort cards.  The favors were bamboo (in a test tube) with tags and the escort cards were in the shape of seats.  The seats are a pain in the ass! Why? Because you had to score, fold, and glue!  Even so upon setting them up, they could fall easily.  They had a domino effect.

My husband was in charge of the cotton candy machine.  My uncle had intentions of putting 3 cotton candy in a jar (with 3 jars on the table) so that in a sense they would look like flowers.  Also, they wanted to use white – and if you aren’t aware there is no white cotton candy.  So the idea was to use white sugar…which didn’t turn out so well… Also did I mention that cotton candy will droop after awhile?  It looks…pitiful.  So yea don’t use cotton candy as a centerpiece!
