Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (film) and why it’s not that great

Let me start of by saying this:

  1. I’ve read all the books.
  2. I’ve seen all the movies.
  3. I’m okay with book to film movies but only IF it makes sense.  I understand the book is damn long and one can’t possibly put all of it in the movie.  So I’m okay with leaving stuff of out.  I will talk about this later in the post.
  4. I saw this movie with my husband who has never read the book.  He didn’t like the movie.
  5. This movie is great visually, but story wise…damn it sucks.

The movie sucks for the following reasons:

Note: I will be seeing the movie a second time for my friend’s birthday.  I will confirm the points below and if there are changes I will add that.

  1. Do you know Ron’s ex pyscho’s girlfriend name?  I don’t recall her name being mentioned in the movie.  If not, her name is Lavendar Brown.
  2. How the hell did Draco get Katie and Slughorn the cursed necklace and the poisoned drink?  The book says: Draco used one of the barmaids.
  3. Where the hell is the major fight scene when the Death ‘Eaters enters Hogwarts?  It’s gone!  Doesn’t exist..then why did the Death Eaters arrive later then Draco?
  4. How did Draco know when Dumbledore was back from the cave?  The book says: the barmaid which Draco used to give Katie the necklace and the mead to Slughorn is how he knew.
  5. How come Harry didn’t tell McGongall about Snape killing Dumbledore?  I want to see that woman pissed!
  6. Is the ring destroyed? I don’t know…it was in the book.
  7. Where’s the scene where Harry breaks up with Ginny in the end?
  8. The ending sucks.  Harry, Hermonine and Ron should have been all talking.
  9. Snape and Harry didn’t have that much dramatic interaction with together.

gah.

F.P.U. – Financial Peace University

On July 16th, 2009, my husband and began taking Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University class at a local church.  We are doing well…as well as we can be.  It was hard in the beginning, talking and coming to terms with our finances.  But we are doing well.  We have finished our first baby step! We are excited and on a roll!  Off to step 2!

New home

Found a new home! Yay!  Our move-in date is Sept 1.  I’m happy that we found a place that will suit our needs.  The toughest part will be packing.  I hate packing and unpacking.  But it will give me a chance to unclutter and get rid of things that we no longer need.
