We are becoming too pc.

Let me put this out there. I’m Asian.  I’m not fond of racist jokes.  However, now in today’s society, we can no longer say “Merry Christmas” to people because not everyone celebrates Christmas and it could offend someone.  It is now call a “Holiday Party” instead of a “Christmas Party”.  This is fine and I understand and can respect that.

Now there is Halloween.  Brockport Central Schools does not allow kids to dress up in Halloween costumes.  There is no longer a Halloween Maze for kids to run around in, now it’s an aquarium?  WTF is that?  It’s not like we get a day off for Halloween.

Sometimes people get a little too overboard and offensive.  When I say “Merry Christmas” to someone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, I’m not saying it to be mean.  I’m saying it to be merry and joyful and wishing you the best this season.  It sucks to be so careful and restrictive.

I remember seeing an informerical that sold a button that says “It’s OK Wish Me a Merry Christmas”.  I think I’m gonna rock one this year.

*EDIT:  I’m not Christian by the way.  When I say “Merry Christmas”, I mean it in a believe in Santa Claus/Saint Nick and the spirit of giving.

**EDIT (yet again):  I don’t think I’m gonna rock the button due to the religious conotations.  Hmm.  Maybe a button with Santa saying “HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas!” ?
