Kaizen

I’m improving my website which means another change.  I know, I can’t seem to make up my mind. But I think this new approach will be better in the long run.  My presence online is still chaotic and I am still in the process of trying to define it.

Am I blogger? eh.

What do I want to keep track of? all of my online presence in a cohesive spot.

So look for a new change coming up.  This wordpress blog will be archived.  WordPress is nice but too much work for me.  I just don’t have the time to maintain it and update it.  I’m a tumblog person.  I’m using a custom domain for my tumblr blog.  You can visit it at kaizen.isallcaps.com.  Don’t worry my tumblr blog redirects to the domain.

You might wonder why not point it to this domain (isallcaps.com).  It is because I want this domain to be the gateway to the rest.

I miss Tumblr

After trying to make this blog into a tumblr style, I can’t do it.  It takes too long!  The main reason I used tumblr in the first place was because it was easy and I post things that I find intriguing and amusing.  I’m just gonna use both.  This one for posts on my own thoughts and the other for things I find on the web.

Frugal vs Unclutter

I have a lot of stuff.  I am at this phase where I want to simplify yet be frugal.

Clothes is easier for me to get rid of.  I figured if I haven’t worn it in a past year, is not my current age appropriate, or is frayed – I would toss.  The hardest part are these new shirts that I got that now have a small hole. <groan>  They are my favorites!  I figured I would wear them a little longer so I won’t feel so bad throwing it away soon (I’ve only worn it a handful of times).

As for the other stuff…well there’s that sentimental stuff, as well as stuff that I “could” use.  There are times where I have kicked myself because I threw something away only to find out that I need it.  A good portion of the stuff that I have are paper-related.  My plan is to digitize them.

I’ve got my work cut out for me come Thanksgiving.

Anticipation

I was planning on getting to the voting booths at 7 am to vote cause I knew there would be long lines.  I got up at 7 am, got my coffee ready in the morning, ate my bowl of cheerios and headed over to the Dome.  Got there at 8 am and was surprised to see not a lot of cars.  I was like “what?!? where are all the cars? does this mean no wait?”  As I got in, there wasn’t a lot of people.  I was the third person in line for the booth I was voting at.  Here I was thinking about bringing in the book GEB to read while I wait.  But I didn’t have to.  As I looked around at the poll workers, I noticed a mix of young, old, female, male, black, white, and people of various religions.

I must admit, there have been times when I wasn’t proud to be an American due to some of the policies and tactics of the government.

But today, I felt honored and privileged to live in this country and renewed my pride as an American.  I’m glad that I have the right to the vote.  Thanks to the women who made it possible.

Side note: I was not aware that NY had a proposition to vote on.  Totally missed the lever on that one!  D’oh!
